Gedanken lebendig fangen

ART IS THE GARDEN OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT, IS ITS NATURE
Dietrich Mahlow, Seeheim, 2003

Barbara’s art is the light in the ever blossoming and withering garden of the human spirit.

Patterns dance in her plant beds: watermarks as a choreography of neurons:
water communicates
it whirls, it creates transparent perspectives.

Barbara's patterns are 'words' of poetry in proximity with the unutterable which lives in our souls and dances in our heads and wants to be looked at before it turns into single track writing and language.

Hardly possible to grasp in their rhythm, the patterns form an open space: full of Lichtenberg- like forces. Invisible strength which works within us, chaotically (un)ordered.

Is this a space where anything is possible that is possible for me?
because the picture is me! A GLASS-LINKED EMPTYNESS WITH HOLES.
Falling, suction - suction for doing, doing things oneself.

Barbara Beisinghoff jumps to and fro between the left and right sides of the brain on her watermark trails. wide awake towards time and space, always standing guard at her printing press and over the materials from which she creates patterns for the living contents of our heads.

The picture turns into a landscape which corresponds to the constant flow of images in our heads. She always attempts to keep her brain active and to activate ours. Her art can be compared to a kind of vivid natural science which affords a glimpse into the nature of the processing of human images.

The Angel is My Watermark, produced in Women's Studio Workshop, Rosendale New York, USA .
Christian Scheffler, Klingspor Museum Offenbach 1999
